Cross-entropy AI is a non-profit organisation founded in Singapore with a singular conviction: that the transformative power of artificial intelligence should be understood, accessible, and openly examined — not confined to those who already speak its language.
We exist at the intersection of research, education, and philosophical inquiry. Our mission is to advance the exchange of ideas around AI, to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and everyday understanding, and to ensure that the benefits of this revolution reach beyond the walls of laboratories and corporations.

What We Do
Open Research & Knowledge Sharing. We believe progress flourishes in the open. Through transparent research, accessible writing, and community-driven discourse, we work to demystify AI — making its concepts, capabilities, and limitations legible to a broader audience. We aim to lower the barrier of entry so that more people can engage with AI in meaningful and practical ways.
Bridging the Gap. There remains a profound divide between those who build AI systems and those whose lives are shaped by them. Cross-entropy AI is committed to closing that distance — through educational initiatives, open-source contributions, and content that meets people where they are, not where the field assumes them to be.
Philosophical Exploration. AI does not merely pose technical questions; it poses deeply human ones. What does it mean for a machine to reason? How do we preserve agency in an age of automation? What responsibilities accompany the creation of intelligence? We engage with these questions not to provide definitive answers, but to provoke thought, invite dialogue, and honour the complexity they deserve.

Why Cross-entropy?
In information theory, cross-entropy quantifies the distance between two probability distributions — between what we believe and what is true. It is a fitting metaphor for our purpose. We seek to narrow the gap between the current state of AI literacy and the understanding our society needs; between the promise of technology and its equitable realisation.
An Invitation
This is not a monologue. We offer our writing and our work as a starting point — stones cast into still water, in the hope of creating ripples.
